AWANA - Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
II Timothy 2:15
This outreach program for children 2 years through 6th grade is broken down into three 30 minute segments. You can have the privilege of attending Game Time, Handbook Time, and Council Time, beginning August through April. Please, come help us shape the future of Immanuel Baptist Church and serve in one of her largest
ministries. Wouldn't you love to help create Christian ethics in our community's youth? If so, let our staff show you how to share the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and make a difference in daily lives.
We are beginning our 14th year of AWANA with Bro. Jeff Jasso, Commander, an ordained minister of the Gospel of Christ. Puggles Club is new this year for 2 year olds! Director is Angela Epperson who has a staff of 3 leaders. Cubbies Club is under the direction of Cindy Fleming, and enrolls 3 and 4 year olds. Wow! She has an energetic group of 17 this year! Sparks Club, Director Bro. Michael Poe, a licensed minister, is thrilled to welcome all kindergarten through 2nd grade to this exciting Club. And, finally, the 3rd through 6th grade Truth & Training (T & T) Clubs are off to a great start with Brenda Wingard as Director of the girls and Bro. Jeff Jaso Director of the boys.
We run 3 buses throughout Grant County, which would not be possible without the assistance of Rayvon Vailes, Bill Pittman, and
Bro. Michael Poe. These 3 men have been faithful and safety minded of all our children riding the bus for the last 14 years.
Our Music and Program Directors are D. L. and Brenda Roberts. All the children enjoy this period of time with songs such as “Pharaoh Pharaoh”, “Our God is an Awesome God”, Club Theme Songs and many others.
Activity Director, Tammie Poe, makes sure theme nights and end of the year Cook-Out/Water Night run smoothly. She ensures something fun for every age group! Combine these activities with our SUPER Game Time Director, Tommy Murrell, and the children get plenty of exercise and great fun!
Each child is rewarded for Handbook/Attendance/Theme participation with “Bucks”. They are able to earn/save these rewards for the AWANA Store. Starr Earnhart and Karen Talbert make sure the Store is well stocked and ready for business every 1st and 2nd Wednesday night of the month. Clubbers will find gifts for their parents and siblings (even free gift wrapping provided) as well as treats/toys/trinkets for themselves.
If you do not have a church home, we would love for you to visit Immanuel. We invite you to come as a visitor and leave as a friend.
